Fayetteville, NC — The Greater Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Mrs. Toni Cooper has been selected as the Chamber’s new Interim President & CEO. Effective August, Mrs. Cooper began work in her new position.
“I am excited to be working with the Chamber, focusing on our members, and continuing to grow and make an impact within the community,” said Cooper. “This organization is a significant part of business growth, and as such we’re dedicated to seeing all our members prosper.”
Mrs. Cooper possesses a vast amount of experience in Chamber operations, such as event coordination, accounting and financial operations, and sales skills that have inspired countless new members to join GFC during the past decade.
Prior to her position as interim President & CEO at the Greater Fayetteville Chamber, Mrs. Cooper was the Chamber and Fayetteville’s department of Economic Development’s Office Manager, garnering her a plethora of valuable connections within the city. She also took on many roles within the Military Affairs Council, an adjacent organization to GFC that holds a strong relationship with Fort Bragg and Pope Army Airfield leadership.
Chair of the Chamber’s Board Tammy Thurman, said, “We offer you the warmest welcome to your new role as Interim President and CEO of the Greater Fayetteville Chamber. Mrs. Cooper brings more than 15 years of chamber experience. With her exceptional background and expertise, she is uniquely positioned to represent every stakeholder in Cumberland County,” Thurman added, “We are pleased to welcome Toni back to Fayetteville and feel that her leadership and proven track record will complement the Chamber’s staff and keep the organization on a path of success and ever-increasing achievements.”
As the Chamber’s interim President & CEO, Cooper will oversee staff, day-to-day operations, relationships with local, state, and federal government, and continue the long-standing partnership with economic development.
Coming from a military family, Cooper is a graduate of Rutledge College with an associate degree in secretarial science. In her leisure time she enjoys reading, working out, and writing short stories. She is married to Shawn Cooper, and they have four children.
